I’m lending a painting to an art show.

I bought the painting “Hillary’s House” by the Canadian artist Kim Dorland last year from the gallery Freight & Volume in Chelsea. The image doesn’t do it justice, because he’s a very tactile painter. The paint is layered on thickly, and the tree in the middle rises at least an inch off the surface of the canvas.

The gallery was contacted by the curator of an upcoming exhibition called “HOME” at the Westport Art Center in Westfield, Connecticut. Supposedly, he specifically asked if he could include this painting in the exhibition. Sure, I say!

Should be up during April and May.
