Parliament building in Dhaka, Bangladesh by Louis Kahn

We went to the building first thing in the morning but they wouldn’t let us past the gates, which were far back from the building. Unbeknownst to us, you need permission from the parliamentary secretary to get on the grounds, which involved sending a letter. Determined to give it our best shot, we went to the U.S. Embassy half an hour away to plead our case. They said it’d take a day or two. We said this was our only day. They reluctantly agreed to call over to the secretary’s office, and a couple hours later we had been granted admission. Sweet.
