When I first moved to New York, Motor City was a regular stop when going out in the Lower East Side.

As like many other places, their lease has come up and they’re shutting down, but at least they had a kick ass closing party. This wasn’t for the new kids. Saw several old time neighborhood regulars and it felt like I’d stepped back into the 1990’s.

The all female punk band Tall Black Girls (who are not tall nor black) performed a raucous show. Got into the mosh pit and narrowly dodged the lead singer surfing the crowd. Damn fun.

Have a BMW 1200gs for the weekend. Friday got soaked in rain. Saturday got buffeted by wind, but Sunday was just great. So much fun driving through open roads and lovely trees. Didn’t see another vehicle for almost an hour.
