A 3 day performance of women over 50 who are sawing, chopping, and piling wood together. It is quite a sight to see!

Quick side trip to Colmar to see the Isenheim Altarpiece at the Unterlinden museum.

Img00101-20090628-1709

Painted by Grünewald with sculptures by de Haguenau between 1512 and 1516, the Isenheim Altarpiece is an incredible polyptych that had three states of opening or closing to show different sets of scenes. This panel of the resurrection was shown with scenes of the annunciation and a concert of angels on high holy days.

How can you be in Dijon and not buy some mustard?

Img00095-20090626-1736

However, don’t expect to find Grey Poupon. Maille, since 1747, is *the* mustard place in Dijon. They have over 30 varieties in a variety of colors including Mango with Thai Spices, Clementine Pistachio, Pesto and Rocket, and, from the Spring 2009 Collection, Mint and Sichuan Pepper Mustard. I bought a bottle of the last. Should be interesting.
