Once again thanks to my friend Kim, I got to sport a tux and hobnob with society at the NYC Opera Spring Gala this past Thursday. The program featured the works of Stephen Schwartz, who composed the musicals Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin. Not being a musical fan, I didn’t find it too exciting. So it was all about the people, the drinks, and the food.
The only celebrity pointed out to me was Isaac Mizrahi. The food was exceptionally good for a big event like this. Hors d’oeuvres included crostini with raw quail egg, and the dinner started with a delicious, cold lemon tagliatelli topped with American caviar.
