My Christmas Pot Roast
I’ve been on a roll with the holiday meals this year. Did my first turkey over Thanksgiving, and now, unlike the last couple of years, my Christmas meat came out just right.
It helped that I used this forgiving recipe for beef pot roast with pistachio salt. The meat was tender and delicious, and the root vegetables were very appropriate. Served with some rustic bread and a green salad.

Walking the new Bay Bridge
This gallery contains 4 photos.
Nice walk, but the bridge ain’t that great, IMO. I enjoyed looking at the hulk of the old bridge more.
I did it! My first turkey. #happythanksgiving
I spatchcocked a turkey, which required cutting out the backbone and flattening it out. Cooked in only an hour.
The turkey was good. Not that different from prior turkeys I’ve had, and I’m very happy to say that. Was afraid I might blow it.
